  1. Welcome to Acorn User's CD copy of Acorn's anonymous FTP service.
  2.  
  3. A number of the files in here are compressed using Spark rather than
  4. ArcFS. A copy of SparkPlug is provided which should read the files.
  5. However, in order to run any applications they will need to be
  6. dragged to another disc to de-archive them, as SparkPlug will
  7. not allow applications to be run from within archives (as ArcFS
  8. will). If you possess a copy of SparkFS, this should allow the
  9. applications to run.
  10.  
  11. This copy of the server's contents was taken on 24/02/94; as with all ftp
  12. servers, the service provided at ftp.acorn.co.uk is under continual 
  13. expansion, and information stored on it is subject to change from time to 
  14. time.
  15.  
  16. This copy of the server has also had most of its filenames and filetypes 
  17. altered,so that the structure should be compliant with the ISO 9660 standard.
  18. The RISCIX directory, however, has been left "as is;" f filename truncation 
  19. happens during mastering, the correct filenames are listed at the end of this
  20. file so that they can be renamed after extraction from the CD ROM.

  22. Most graphic images are supplied as a combination of Acorn sprite, Acorn
  23. drawfile, GIF, JPEG or Encapsulated Postscript, so that they may be viewed 
  24. on whatever ISO 9660 capable platform is available.

  89.               Ghostscript under SunOS, do any brave PostScript hackers want to

  202.       A Printer Definition File for the popular Epson Stylus Colo(u)r printer,

  207.       templates are numbered to correspond with the number of the page in
